What is Obesity?

Obesity is a type of condition that is caused by having too much excess of body fat. Obesity is classified to people having a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 30 and above. Obesity increases the risk and chances of developing related conditions such as diabetes, hypertension and many others. Many people affected by obesity are not aware of it.

Causes of Obesity

There are many causes that can contribute directly and indirectly to obesity. Environment, behavior and genetics are among the main causes and contributors to obesity. Behavior, in the case of obesity, relates to food choices, amount of physical activities achieved by someone to maintain the health. There are many environmental influences that can impact your health decisions like, walking has been replaced with driving cars, physical activities have been replaced with technology and nutrition has been replaced with fast and convenient foods.

How to Prevent Obesity

There are also many ways to help prevent obesity like to always exercise regularly. Eat healthy meals and proper food. Monitor your weight regularly and always be consistent.
